Dave Grohl's soundtrack for Paul Schrader's Touch is an unusual and intriguing series of multi-layered instrumentals. Working with a basic instrumentation of guitar, bass, drums and keyboards, Grohl creates a number of evocative, occasionally melodic, instrumentals, intercutting them with a handful of songs he wrote with John Doe and Veruca Salt's Louise Post. While the soundtrack is a bit too disjointed to work entirely successfully outside of the film, it is nevertheless indicative of Grohl's considerable musical talents, as well as his potential as a film composer. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi
