In addition to a DVD with skate footage and a live set from Turbonegro, volume 12 of Thrasher Mag: Skate Rock features 20 previously unreleased music tracks from groups like Alkaline Trio (a decent live version of their dour "Prevent This Tragedy"), Leviathan ("Third Blind Wound"), Die' Hunns ("Do You Want the Truth"), and Riverboat Gamblers (the raving "Smoking Crack with LA Reid"). It's a disparate mix for sure -- Leviathan alone is enough to choose sides over -- but it keeps up skate rock's image as surly, crass, and generally confrontational. ~ Johnny Loftus, Rovi
