Snoop Dogg's crew is at their best when the beats are at their most resourceful (old-school scratching and Blueprint-like samples) and when Snoop Dogg himself lends a verse or two. Otherwise, this overlong and repetitive showcase doesn't uncover anything revelatory. Dated gangsta rhymes, plodding sex raps, and some awkward flows weigh down Doggy Style Allstars: Welcome to tha House, Vol. 1. And whoever gave Mr. Kane -- an incredibly tiresome P-funk impersonator -- the mic should have his hip-hop license revoked. ~ Michael Gallucci, Rovi
