- Ace Moreland
Main Performer
Thom Owens
Ace Moreland isn't a particularly distinctive guitarist or singer. He's content to turn out Southern-fried hard rock and heavy boogie without attempting to update the sound whatsoever. That's not necessarily a bad thing, since Moreland does this stuff fairly well. There isn't much spark or originality to his playing, but his debut Sizzlin' Hot is a reasonably appealing record that should satisfy fans of Southern blues-rock, at least initially. It may not leave many lasting impressions, but it sounds good while it's playing and suggests that, with a little effort, Moreland could develop into a strong journeyman guitarist. ~ Thom Owens, Rovi
