David Bowie's Serious Moonlight tour video and DVD is a good document of one of his most successful tours. Recorded in 1983 during Bowie's visit to Vancouver, the concert is high energy. The 87-minute running time is substantial and most of the selections are from 1980 or before. Standout tracks include "Space Oddity," "Rebel Rebel," and "Heroes." The only hit song from Bowie's early-'80s pop phase is "China Girl." For older fans who prefer Ziggy Stardust, that is a plus. For newer fans, the exclusion of "Let's Dance" and "Modern Love" is a major oversight. The concert, performed on a recreation of a Singapore street, is an entertaining concert with a strong emphasis on early music from the 1970s. ~ JT Griffith, Rovi
