William Ruhlmann

The appealing advance single from 3LW's self-titled debut album is a contemporary pledge of love in the face of the vicissitudes of modern life. "Playas, they gon' play / Haters, they gonna hate," the female vocal group acknowledges in the chorus, but "That ain't got nothin' to do / With me and you / That's the way it is." The production (with co-author/producer Sean Hall popping up to make interjections) and the context may be new, but the message is as old as love itself.
