The Beau Hunks are amazing. Not only did they re-create Leroy Shield's Little Rascals scores, they have also transcribed his soundtracks from the Laurel & Hardy films, Charley Chase, and other standards from the '30s. Shield often recycled his material, so many of the pieces are used in many Hal Roach comedies. On to the Show: The Beau Hunks Play More Little Rascals Music is a set of wonderfully fun, toe-tapping tracks from those films. This is just pure listening entertainment; there is no need for focused listening or for casual listening. The hooks and riffs are infectious. Back in those days there were no samplers or synthesizers to duplicate sounds; Shield created the atmospheres with traditional orchestral and acoustic instruments.
