Given his golden ticket by a phone call from Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun, YouTube viral sensation Matt Toka set to work on his debut major-label EP, scooping up his first-choice producer, Rob Cavallo, the man behind chart-toppers by Kid Rock, O.A.R., and Toka's all-time favorite album, Green Day's Dookie. While Toka's stardom blossomed from home-shot solo acoustic performances of punk-pop, Cavallo goes for an overblown wall of processed pop to lift the singer to a pop artist. As a singer, he does a decent Billie Joe Armstrong impression on "Ode to My Family," and even attempts party rap on "Get Money"; however, pun-riddled lyrics are the main focus, evident by the dozens of thinly veiled references to Nirvana in the Courtney Love dedication ballad, "Courtney." ~ Jason Lymangrover, Rovi
