Ladies and Gentlemen, a recording of the Rolling Stones on their phenomenal 1972 tour, is, in no uncertain terms, the World's Greatest Rock and Roll Band at its very finest. Mick Jagger is in fine voice and in top form as a frontman, Keith Richards proves why he is so revered as a rhythm guitarist, Charlie Watts is at his peak as a drummer, and Bill Wyman is equally on form. The star of the show, however, is unquestionably the amazing Mick Taylor. The man's brand of blues-rock lead guitar is here more inspirational than ever before. Recorded on the band's tour of the prestigious Exile on Main St. album, this video features a wealth of class tracks. "Tumbling Dice," "Sweet Virginia," "All Down the Line," "Happy," and many songs from earlier Stones recordings are performed. The added touch of Taylor's lead to such tracks as "Gimme Shelter" and "You Can't Always Get What You Want" place them even above the highly acclaimed studio versions. Despite this recording not being of this highest sound and picture quality, it is acceptable in its current state. What really stands out on this video is, more importantly, the fine concert. Not only is this the best live Rolling Stones release, but it is also one of the greatest live recordings in rock ever. ~ Ben Davies, Rovi
