For anyone who purchased Tim McGraw's first two Greatest Hits volumes, this purchase is simply superfluous since there isn't anything extra here whatsoever. That said, it might anger you to know that the reason this is a "Limited Edition" package is because it's a prep for volume three and there is a deep discount on this one: this double-disc set is sold for the price of a single CD; the original two volumes were sold at full retail for each. The only purpose a package like this serves is to gather in Johnny come lately fans into the fold and catch them up. This is possible for one reason: McGraw has managed a truly memorable run in the field of contemporary country and has few peers when it comes to his string of hits, perhaps only his wife Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Brooks & Dunn, and George Strait are in his company. McGraw warrants two previous greatest-hits comps because he has continually hit the charts, and unbelievably, continued to grow as an artist outside the narrow conventions of the genre while remaining relevant to a very fickle group of fans. His appeal reaches outside of the genre as well, and the latter half of disc two here more than adequately represents that. This comp may be for newbies only, but it does offer a striking look at an enduring artist. ~ Thom Jurek, Rovi
