Jimmy Cliff's strongest work was done under the wing of legendary Jamaican producer Leslie Kong in the late '60s and early '70s, a period that saw the pair craft such soulful pop-reggae classics as "Wonderful World, Beautiful People," "You Can Get It If You Really Want," "Vietnam," and the gorgeous "Many Rivers to Cross." Unfortunately, one has to listen through 13 tracks of generally OK but not great Jimmy Cliff tracks before those four gems show up all in a row on this anthology, which makes it well less than definitive when all is said and done. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
