This terrific set of traditional music from the venerable Irish label Claddagh includes the CD version of the 1984 LP Claddagh's Choice, which was originally issued on vinyl in the 1970s, and a second volume that includes more contemporary recordings. Artists include legends like Seamus Ennis, Se?n ? Riada, Leo Rowsome, Sean 'ac Dhonncha, and the Chieftains. In an age when studio trickery, factory preset keyboard sounds, and increasingly progressive reworkings of familiar melodies have become the norm, it's a real treat to hear these timeless songs presented so pristinely and authentically. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
