Contains all the sensuous, red-light specials that established Teddy Pendergrass as an R&B sex symbol. Delivered in his rough baritone, throbbers "Come Go With Me," "Close the Door," "Turn Off the Lights," "Is It Still Good To Ya," and his theatrical duet with Stephanie Mills' "Feel the Fire," work like aphrodisiacs. Who can't identify with the aching "The Whole's Town Laughing At Me," or the questioning "Be Sure?" The exciting "You Can't Hide From Yourself" has a gospel beat, and is pushed by Pendergrass' fire & brimstone vocal. A good happy feel is evident on "When Somebody Loves You Back," but "Love TKO" is hardly joyous, the beat is hypnotizing, the lyrics agonizing, and Teddy's vocal is full of pain. ~ Andrew Hamilton, Rovi
