20th Century Masters -- The Millennium Collection is a leaner overview of Jackyl's career than 1998's Choice Cuts, and nine of its 11 selections can also be found on that disc. There's not enough of a difference between the two discs to make one considerably better than the other. "The Lumberjack" -- easily their biggest hit -- can be found here, and so can their other Top 40 mainstream rock tracks ("Dirty Little Mind," "Down on Me," "Headed for Destruction," "I Stand Alone"). Since none of Jackyl's studio albums are all that solid, a compilation like this one is necessary. It's not so much an introduction to the band as it's the only disc in the band's catalog that you could ever need. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
