Adrian Brinkerhoff: Day in D Flat - The Himalaya Sessions
UPC: 034061035824
Studio: Albany
Summary: A dedicated pianist whose love of music found him frequently performing for weary travelers looking to seek shelter from the harsh conditions of the Himalayas in an abandoned monastery, Adrian Brinkerhoff's story is a mysterious one. In the days following the all-night recording session contained in this release, the majority of the recording crew was killed in a tragic avalanche. When it was reported soon thereafter that Brinkerhoff himself had gone missing as well and that the only trace of the pianist was a pack containing the photos and text featured in this release, the mystery that surrounded the grueling expedition only grew deeper. Now fans can hear Brinkerhoff final performance in a high-resolution recording showcasing compositions by Liszt, Satie, Debussy, Chopin, Copland, and Rachmaninoff. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
