Synopsis: Publisher Ubisoft's sophisticated squad-based series moves from military technology's cutting edge to its bleeding edge in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter. Set in the not-so-distant future of 2013, players lead a Special Forces unit to quell an insurgency lurking within the urban environment of Mexico City. The game introduces a new mechanic called the Cross-Com, a communications device integrated into a soldier's monocle that allows players to view images of enemy positions, target locations, and other information gathered by recon drones flying overhead. The Xbox version of Advanced Warfighter was developed by a different team than the Xbox 360 game, resulting in a few key differences, like an exclusive first-person perspective with a view of the character's equipped weapon. Other changes include one AI-controlled Ghost on the team instead of three, an ability to sprint across areas, and redesigned levels. The single-player campaign otherwise spans 12 missions that involve clearing zones, rescuing dignitaries, creating distractions, capturing buildings, and more.
