Synopsis: Inspired by the unique typing tutorial/zombie shooter The Typing of the Dead, Rock of the Dead takes two modern video game staples and smashes them together into a combination of rhythm-action and on-rails shooting gameplay. Players grab guitar or drum peripherals (not included) and string together classic Guitar Hero-style riffs to fend off invading hordes of zombies, aliens, and mutated insects. Each enemy is accompanied by a horizontal fret, and gamers must match the button pattern displayed on screen to dispatch the encroaching undead, with weaker zombies requiring simple three-button combinations, and the strongest of foes demanding mastery of all five buttons. The button combinations are designed to match metalized versions of classical music from artists such as Brahms and Bach, as well as licensed tracks from White Zombie, and in-game characters are voiced by Rob Zombie, and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog co-stars Neil Patrick Harris and Felicia Day.
