Synopsis: Race Pro is a hardcore auto racing simulation for Xbox 360. Rubber-bumpered button-mashers need not apply, but true fans of the motor sports are rewarded with a responsive, realistic behind-the-wheel experience. Creator of the critically acclaimed GT Legends and GTR games for PC, developer Simbin's first console release continues the elucidation of World Touring Car Championship racing, and also features Formula 3000 racing and three series of GT production and performance car racing. In all over 50 cars are available, from manufacturers such as Dodge, Audi, Koenigsegg, and many others. All cars can be extensively modified, in suspension, tires, and engine tuning. Races take place on over a dozen tracks, inspired by real-life locations around the world, including Macau, Porto, and Pau. A single-player campaign leads through an entire career of wins, losses, sponsorships, and celebrity. Up to 12 virtual pros can race online. Cars are designed to look and feel like their real-life counterparts. Races are won by taking the best line and staying clear of walls and other drivers. Individually modeled systems allow for realistic, performance-altering damage effects, when overheating or collisions do occur. The game presents a smooth, detailed, realistically unforgiving re-creation of auto racing, but also offers extras, such as a dynamic "best line" indicator, which can help any player learn to drive more like a real race pro. ~ T.J.
