Synopsis: Sony's in-house basketball franchise marks its second PS3 release with a brand new "Games of the Week" feature that allows players to re-create five scenarios from the previous week's real-world NBA action. Abandoning "The Life" feature to the PS2 platform, NBA '08 instead focuses more on a system of advancement, called the upside progression system, where gamers complete a series of goals to earn rewards that allow for increased player customization. Other new features include expanded use of the wireless Sixaxis controller, all new audio commentary from Seattle announcer Kevin Calabro and former player Mark Jackson, new player animations, momentum based contact physics, and an enhanced online system with player profiles.
