Synopsis: Tecmo's long-running creature-creator game series comes to North American touch screens for the first time in Monster Rancher DS. Similar to previous editions of Monster Rancher for PlayStation consoles and GBA, the game involves developing custom monsters and sending them to battle against other monsters, in tournaments and in the wild. Monster Rancher DS uses the handheld's distinctive input features to allow players to design and create their own pet monster characters. Players can design a monster by drawing directly on the touch screen, or by speaking "incantations" into the DS microphone. Each monster can be further customized, by spending a limited amount of "guts" points on different fighting moves and abilities.
