Synopsis: The sequel to Mario Superstar Baseball on GameCube continues the athletic pursuits of the Mushroom Kingdom crew with all-new motion sensitive controls and bonus play modes. Over 40 of Nintendo's finest are ready to pitch, hit, and field in nine themed ballparks set within a jungle, castle, and more. Each character is individually rated in four skill areas, and team captains possess distinct special techniques. Mario, for example, can throw fireballs past batters, while Luigi transforms infield hits into tornados. Two control options involve guiding the action solely with the Wii Remote or a combination of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. Flick your wrists to initiate throws and swings, or shake the remote to run and field. An on-screen cursor will help you determine when to hit or pitch. Five play modes include "Exhibition," "Challenge," "Mini-game," "Toy Field," and "Training." Exhibition supports up to four players in a single game, while Challenge is a single-player event that has you unlocking new characters by competing in baseball-themed contests. Mini-game features nine activities ranging from home run battles to pitching showdowns. Toy Field has you challenging up to three rivals in a batting and fielding contest, while Training lets you practice your skills in an interactive tutorial.
