Synopsis: EA's cartoonish boxing game punches its way onto the Wii with an emphasis on multiplayer action and a couple of new, face-deforming game modes. FaceBreaker K.O. Party features over-the-top boxing action and a lineup of 12 wacky characters, each with unique special attacks. The control scheme was designed to immerse gamers in boxing atmosphere, letting players use their Wii Remote and Nunchuk to dodge and parry while stringing together jabs, body blows, and haymakers. Real-time facial deformation givers gamers an indication of how badly their pugilist is pummeling the opponent, and well-placed punches help players unleash special ground, bone, sky, and face "breakers" that produce out massive damage. The primary mode is "Brawl for it All," a tournament in which players earn belts and unlock new costumes and characters as they battle past every fighter in the game. Two new modes grace Wii gamers, with "T.K.O." mode letting players form a three-fighter team to take on a squad of up to four opponents, with damage incurred during one brawl carrying over to the next bout. The other new mode, "Punch-O-Matic," that sends power-ups cascading into the ring in the middle of fights, saddles each fighter with a variety of handicaps and strengths, and even unleashes the occasional deadly stalking robot. ~ Christopher Brown, All Game Guide
