Synopsis: As a soldier in the world-renowned LightStormer Corps., your main objective is to clean up the universe...but it's getting pretty hairy out there! Mutated humans, space marines and aliens have decimated scientific research parties on Mars, threatened Earth and infiltrated various space stations -- the LightStormer Corps. aren't taking this situation lightly. The government has a top-secret plan: Psionic power. Implanted into your brain, these psychic powers significantly enhance your mental abilities; you can mentally heal yourself, drain energy, shock deadly organisms and blast a group of baddies to smithereens! Use these powers in moderation, however -- they consume vital Psionic points. As a first-person shooter, Disruptor has you blasting your way through a series of dangerous missions on varying planets. With 13 levels in all, you'll run the gauntlet at the LightStormer Academy, destroy a chemical wasteland, infiltrate and retake an important space station on Jupiter, and save Earth from 20 types of deadly mutant freakazoids. Mutants include possessed troops, slimy aliens, jellyfish creatures, genetically altered humans and a group of drones and droids. In addition to the Psionic disciplines, you're provided with a heavy arsenal of sanctioned and unsupported weaponry. LightStormer weapons include an 18mm pistol and a Phase Rifle; while on planetary duty, you'll come across the devastating Lock-On Cannon, Phase Repeater and the explosive AM Cyclone. There's also a crippling Plasma Lance and Zodiac -- these weapons have been confirmed as existing and are located in unfriendly alien territories. ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide

Super smooth graphics with loads of variety and nice effects ~ Shawn Sackenheim, All Game Guide
With its slick and smooth graphics, nice spot effects, and some new gameplay elements, Disruptor is definitely a unique first person shooter. First off, you'll notice that all the graphics are so polished and the textures are so clean and varied that you'll see other first person shooters in a different light. Witness a vastly detailed and stylized ice level with jutting spires of ice, snow covered walkways, and loads of near reflective surfaces. And that's only one of the first few levels! Furthermore, enemy design is varied and nice though everything that moves in the game is a 2D rendered sprite that is almost out of place on the background; not bad, just slightly noticeable. Also, the effects from your psionics are a glowy neon blue that are always nice to look at. What's so unique about the gameplay? Well, you've got your standard high powered weapons of mass destruction but you've also got these government implanted psychic skills that allow you to attack, drain, shield, and generally add a ton of gameplay to the experience. Control is also smooth and easy to pick up on with buttons for everything you need including quick access buttons that bring up a list of all weapons available. You've also got a jump button which allows for some limited action/platforming but nothing too extensive. So, take these dire graphics, interesting control and gameplay, a few hundred enemies, and some well designed levels and you've got yourself one fun and challenging first person shooter! ~ Shawn Sackenheim, All Game Guide
