Synopsis: Calling is a surreal horror-adventure game, created exclusively for play on Wii. The story begins in a modern-day setting, in which players visit a strange website called the "Black Page." All that is displayed at the website is a mysterious counter which, it is suggested, shows not the number of hits the page has received, but the number of page-viewers who have died since visiting. The consciousnesses of some who visit the site are eventually drawn to an other-worldly place, built from the memories of the dead, and it is here, somewhere in this "Border" realm between life and death, that players soon find themselves trapped. The only escape seems to lie in discovering who or what is behind the website, and the horrific purgatory to which it leads. The play of the game is based in graphic-adventure puzzle solving, involving exploration, interaction with objects, and avoidance tricky, deadly traps. Although there are occasional attacks to dodge and avoid, the experience emphasizes creepy, introverted tension and gruesome, spooky ambiance over loud, flashy violence. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
