Call of Duty: Black Ops

Platform: Nintendo DS

Publisher: Activision, Inc.

Developer: n-Space, Inc.

Category: Shooter

Style(s): First-Person Shooter

Synopsis: Activision's juggernaut first-person shooter returns for its annual assault on the bad guys with a focus on clandestine operations and deniable missions in Call of Duty: Black Ops for the DS. Developer n-Space helms the handheld edition for the fourth time, providing a single-player storyline that is designed to offer a different perspective on the events of the console versions, while also filling in some of the narrative gaps. Players take on the role of a CIA-sponsored operative as he battles through a 16-mission campaign set in Cuba, Vietnam, the Soviet Union, and other Cold War hotspots. Black Ops offers more than a dozen unique weapons and attachments, and certain mission find gamers manning the controls of an attack helicopter or flying an experimental fighter jet. Multiplayer fans can take on a separate two-player co-op campaign, or go online for six-player combat, complete with perks, in more than six online arenas. And for those looking for action that is a bit more light-hearted, Black Ops for the DS includes a zombie-laden mode that can be played alone, or with a friend. ~ Christopher Brown, All Game Guide
