Working independently and strategically, the Director of Trends leads the organization?s strategy for trends/lifestyles product development and distribution across multiple channels through a team of Category Managers and Buyers. Position reports to the Vice President of Merchandising.

This hands-on strategist performs many of the traditional functions of a retail buying professional along with the development and distribution of product assortments, the completion and application of ongoing consumer trends analyses and managing margins. Must lead contract negotiations, ensure his or her team is tracking and reporting inventory and orders, and collaborate with members of the Marketing and Ecommerce teams regularly.

The principal outcome for this role is to maximize Hastings profitable market share by supporting the organization?s ongoing merchandising strategy related to a varied selection and a robust product assortment that can be delivered to an increasingly diverse customer base.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for future platforms or business change.
  • Select, direct, develop, correct and retain team members; coach/mentor employees and provide ongoing performance feedback based upon clear, relevant, measureable performance objectives.
  • Provide guidance, set priorities, and assist direct reports.
  • Verify execution of team?s key initiatives such as merchandising standards, product set integrity, product training, and visual merchandising.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of merchandising experience required, with 3 or more years in a significant leadership role
  • Accredited bachelor?s degree in business, marketing, or related field required; master?s degree in a related business field preferred

The Fixture Set Manager is responsible for the installation of all fixtures in a retail store following the fixtures layout. They are responsible in whole or in part for all items, reports, processes, and procedures associated with installation, and ordering of fixtures for assigned projects. The Fixture Set Manager will also be responsible for handling additional requests from Fixture Shop management or outside departments that arise during a normal course of business.

  • Track all freight shipments to projects to ensure on time delivery and cost containment. .
  • Coordinate the daily installation of fixtures per fixture set plan during the schedule set up schedule.
  • Assist with the disposition of fixtures from closed stores and remodels to the fixture shop for reuse.
  • Ability to direct a team of 8-10 associates during the fixture set process and control labor and expenses related to the fixture installations.

The CAD layout designer produces and maintains fixture layouts for the Hastings retail stores. They will work with in-house teams to determine the needs for each store as well as working with outside design professionals such as Architects and Engineers to plan the space for new, relocated, and remodeled stores as well as additional special projects as directed by the Store Planning Manager. The candidate should be willing to work under tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Uses computer assisted design/drafting (CAD) equipment and software to develop designs.
  • Creates and revises drawings

  • Use of AutoCAD software to produce drawings

The Co-Pilot is responsible for assisting in transporting Hastings Associates as scheduled for business travel via company aircraft and responsible for assisting in all flight operations. The Co-Pilot works with the Chief Pilot and reports to the Sr. Director of Retail Administration.

Duties and Tasks, including but not limited to the following:

  • Transport passengers as assigned
  • Assists in making lodging and ground transportation for passengers per company guidelines
  • Assists in providing maintenance and upkeep of company aircraft
  • Communicate with air traffic controllers
  • Monitor and operate aircraft instruments
  • Assists in planning flights; including of travel itineraries in advance of trips
  • Awareness of air traffic
  • Check engines, controls, instruments, and other systems to assure proper functionality
  • Ensure baggage or cargo has been loaded correctly
  • Confer with flight dispatchers and aviation weather forecasters to determine acceptable weather conditions en route and at final destination

  • Must possess and maintain a Commercial Pilot's license with an instrument rating issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)

The Tax Manager is responsible for specific areas relating to the overall financial reporting of the Company. This position reports to the Corporate Controller and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations for fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, sales and use tax accounting, and general income tax compliance.

Duties and Tasks, including but not limited to the following:

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure, specifically surrounding fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, sales and use tax accounting and general income tax compliance.
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Responsible for oversight of all applicable federal and state income tax and other state and local filings.
  • Responsible for audits of federal and state income tax and other state and local filings.
  • Work with Internal Audit to ensure that proper internal controls are in place over fixed asset accounting, lease accounting, sales and use tax accounting, and accounting for income taxes.
  • Supports budget and forecasting activities
  • Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
  • Responds to inquiries from the CFO, Corporate Controller, and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, tax compliance inquiries, special reporting requests and the like.
  • Works with the Corporate Controller and outside tax consultants to ensure a clean and timely year end tax compliance process.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Provide training to new and existing staff, as needed.
  • Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting/Finance CPA
