Responsibilities include analyzing user needs by phone, training users by phone, answering email, processing internet returns, ensuring the operation of equipment through prevention maintenance requirements, resolving problems, and providing corrective instructions.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Basic knowledge of computer operations (Technical training, technical college experience and/or experience with computer related courses is considered a PLUS!)
  • Minimum typing skills 40 wpm preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required
  • Hands on experience with hardware considered a plus
  • Working knowledge of UNIX considered a plus
  • Must be punctual with professional telephone etiquette
  • Strong desire to excel in the field of computers
  • Must be able to handle several things at once and enjoy a fast-paced environment

This position includes the development and management and communication of internet merchandising and marketing programs for goHastings.com. This position reports to the Director of Ecommerce at Hastings. The Marketing Manager must execute a plan that ensures each merchandising program is prioritized and communicated to online customers, allowing for consistent execution while adhering to Hastings brand requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with Marketing in the development of the annual merchandising/promotional strategies that support the web site?s sales and profit plan
  • Working with Product Teams, Marketing and Operations to execute annual plan including the management and analysis of all online merchandise and promotional programs and digital media initiatives
  • Managing a staff of Artists and Marketing specialists in the execution of the daily management of email and social media promotional plans
  • Facilitate and communicate the initial details of Product Team?s promotional activities by communicating upcoming merchandise plans weekly to Advertising
  • Manage Affiliate programs, SEO/Organic search and PPC programs
  • Manage marketing analytics
  • Managing the fiscal marketing budget
  • Interact with all Hastings Merchandising and Promotional staff
  • Bachelors Degree with an emphasis on Marketing or Business Management
  • Excellent written communication skills, Microsoft Word, and Excel fluency required
  • Must have a sense of urgency and by deadline driven
  • Special projects upon request

Requirements:

  • Must have 2+ years of internet marketing experience
  • Buying and contract negotiation experience
  • SEO/SEM familiarity or experience preferred
  • Understanding of how to utilize social networks and email marketing for ecommerce
  • Experience in managing or familiarity with affiliate networks is a plus

The Information Technology team employs 75+ people in varying roles. The Programmer is tasked to support and improve our systems. These systems range from our proprietary internal systems modules to financials and e-commerce. Perform a variety of programming assignments requiring knowledge of established programming procedures and data processing requirements. Maintain and modify programs based on architectural requirements and document said changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Code, test and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology.
  • Maintain and modify programs; make approved changes by amending flow charts, develop detailed programming logic, and coding changes.
  • Test and develop programming modifications.
  • Write new program code using prescribed specifications.
  • Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs such as whether a contemplated change in one part of a program would cause unwanted results in a related part.
  • Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with users and approval of supervisor.
  • Confer with users to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of existing programs. Resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls.
  • Write and maintain programming documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed.
  • Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
  • Work independently or as part of a team on assigned task and complete in a timely manner.
  • Provide on the job training to new department staff members.
  • Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.

Key Traits:

Most of our systems are developed and maintained internally. Our primary database is IBM Informix 11.5 but we also utilize IBM DB2 9.5 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008. Our systems support all aspects of the company including all programming for our retail locations, our e-commerce business and corporate systems. These applications span multiple systems and technologies that require the following:

  • Relocation to Amarillo, TX.
  • High School Diploma/GED with Minimum of 2 years college or technical school background.
  • Bachelor Degree in Information Systems or related degree is preferred.
  • General Programming Experience including, but not limited to; Java, .NET, 4gl, Genero, C/C++, Visual Basic, or Perl.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a positive approach to challenge.
