Jon and Kate Gosselin met at a picnic on October 5, 1997 and were married on June 12, 1999. Soon after marriage, Kate discovered that she suffered from PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), which means she cannot ovulate. They decided to use fertility treatments and immediately began intrauterine insemination. Kate gave birth to twin girls on October 8, 2000. They decided to try for another child and Kate gave birth to sextuplets, three boys and three girls, on May 10, 2004. The daily lives of their family are chronicled on the hit show Jon and Kate plus 8, which originally aired on Discovery Health, but is currently on TLC. They are frequent speakers at churches and other events and have written the book Multiple Blessings: Surviving to Thriving with Twins and Sextuplets. Kate has also written Eight Little Faces and Love Is in the Mix: Making Meals into Memories. Her newest book is entitled, I Just Want You to Know.
